Man Arrested After Charging Purchase Made In Yorktown To Ex-Employer

A 46-year-old Putnam County man was charged with buying building material at a Shrub Oak business and charging the cost to the account of a former employer. State police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Jorge Granda of Lake Peekskill in Putnam Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 25 and charged him with falsifying business records in the first degree, a Class E felony.

ShopRite Hopes To Re-Locate To New Cortlandt Manor Spot By 2018

The ShopRite in Cortlandt Manor will be pulling up stakes and relocating to a spot about a mile down the road, a spokeswoman for the supermarket chain said Friday. The move from 2094 Main St. nearer the city of Peekskill to the 65,000-square-foot anchor position at the planned Cortlandt Crossing Shopping Center at 3144 East Main St., however, won't take place until 2018, said Amanda Quinn, ShopRite's PR person.

Authorities: Hudson Valley man admits killing longtime rival

The Journal News reports the Westchester County District Attorney's Office says 25-year-old Janeil Myke, of Peekskill, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Monday in the slaying of 22-year-old Stephen Agosto. Authorities arrested Myke on Dec. 22 after authorities said he fatally shot Agosto in the head two days earlier using a stolen handgun.
