Prosecutors drop sex trafficking charges against NY man

The Berkshire Eagle reports that 44-year-old Charles Robinson, of Peekskill, New York, was released this week just before his trial on sex trafficking charges was scheduled to start in Pittsfield. District Attorney Paul Caccaviello said "after conferring with the victim, the Commonwealth came to the conclusion that the prudent course of action is to terminate the prosecution."

A Putnam County man with six prior felony convictions for drugs has been convicted again on three counts of sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession. A drug trafficker who operated out of a Northern Westchester housing project for years has been sentenced to more than a decade behind bars.
