Peekskill Man Charged With New Sex Offenses

A 23-year-old Northern Westchester man already in custody for allegedly having sexual contact with a minor is facing additional charges following further investigation that determined he sexually abused a second child in Westchester, state police said on Friday, Feb. 23. Peekskill resident Elisha Henry was arrested and charged with a felony count of first-degree sexual abuse on Monday, Feb. 19 in Wappinger, after an investigation determined that he had engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 11. On Friday, state police announced that Henry was facing two additional felonies after additional investigation determined that he allegedly sexually abused another child in the city of Peekskill.

Social media posts and comments directed at local news outlets had the temblor, centered in Putnam Valley, rattling windows from West Point to Peekskill to Connecticut. Despite a modest 2.2 West Coast transplants might scoff at the outsized reaction to an undersized shake, but any seismic activity in our part of the Hudson Valley re-ignites worries among opponents of the Indian Point Energy Center.

Three Busted For Selling In Heroin In Peekskill

Three men with lengthy arrest records are facing possession and sale of heroin charges following the execution of several search warrants Monday by members of the Peekskill Police Department and the Westchester County Heroin and Opiate Task Force. Charles Pritchett, 65, of the Bronx, John Brown, 58, and Mark Mair, 58, both of Peekskill, were busted following a search of a home at 118 Old Bay St., in Peekskill, and a vehicle belonging to Pritchett, said Peekskill Police Chief Eric Johansen.

Peekskill Man Had Sexual Contact With Child Under 11, Police Say

A 23-year-old area man is behind bars after police say he had sexual contact with a child under the age of 11. State police from the Wappinger barracks received a complaint regarding the alleged conduct on Monday, Feb. 19. An investigation found that Elisa D. Henry of Peekskill had engaged in sexual contact with a victim in the town of Wappinger.

Tarrytown School Employee Pleads Guilty To Stealing Thousands From District

The longtime Tarrytown Union Free School District secretary and Putnam County resident accused of stealing more than $10,000 from her employer has pleaded guilty to a corruption charge. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced on Thursday that Lake Peekskill resident Carol Ressa, 53, has pleaded guilty to a felony count of third-degree grand larceny as a public corruption crime.

Man Faces DWI, Other Charges After Crashing Stolen Vehicle On Route 100

A motorist from Peekskill driving a stolen car from Ossining with a blood alcohol content nearly triple the legal limit was busted by Yorktown police after rolling over the vehicle on Route 100. The Yorktown Police Department received reports of the crash on Route 100 shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, leading to a joint investigation between their department and the Ossining Police Department, who were investigating reports of the stolen vehicle.
