U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has joined U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer in calling for a halt on work on the Algonquin gas pipeline project until independent health and safety studies are completed. Activists at a Peekskill demonstration last month target the Algonquin gas pipeline project, which will run close to the Indian Point nuclear power facility in Buchanan.
