Successful Launch Year for Lincoln Depot Museum

As the first year in operation comes to a close, The Board of Directors of the Lincoln Depot Museum in Peekskill would like to thank all those who have supported the museum and made 2015 a huge success. After many stages of restoration and reconstruction of Peekskill's original train depot site, the long anticipated opening of the actual museum was accomplished in October of 2014.

A 26-year-old Peekskill resident was arrested for shoplifting a jacket at a Kohl's department store in Cortlandt Manor on Thursday. Eric T. Peekskill Takes Ownership Of Scenic Hudson Park

It may have taken more than 17 years, but the city of Peekskill has finally received ownership of the Scenic Hudson Park at Peekskill Landing from the Scenic Hudson Land Trust , according to Mayor Frank Catalina. Peekskill Man Charged with Felony DWI in Croton

New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Manuel H. Niguela-Pesantez, 35, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Felony, on Oct. 17. Troopers stopped the vehicle the Peekskill resident was operating for speeding on State Route 9. They concluded that he was intoxicated following an investigation conducted at the time of the stop. Niguela-Pesantez supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22 percent, police said.

Lincoln Depot Museum in Peekskill Screens 'Saving Lincoln'

The Lincoln Depot Museum in Peekskill will host the area's first showing of the critically acclaimed film "Saving Lincoln" on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. The film is unique because it focuses on Lincoln's relationship with his bodyguard Marshal Ward Hill Lamon, and because it was filmed using actual images from the National Archives as the background. U.S. Rep. Nita M. Lowey announced on Thursday that more than $1 million in federal money will go to expand primary health care services in Rockland County. Lowey, a Democrat who represents Westchester and Rockland counties, said the $1,095,355 grant enables Peekskill-based Hudson River HealthCare to renovate a recently-acquired site in Nyack to serve 3,000 low-income patients while creating 14 new, full-time jobs.
