This week's episode of WMHT's "New York Now," a co-production with the Times Union, features Matt Ryan's extended look at the 1994 gubernatorial campaign that pitted liberal lion Mario Cuomo against George Pataki - a previously obscure state legislator and former mayor of Peekskill. The episode, drawing on material collected for Matt's outstanding 2016 documentary "Gov. Mario Cuomo: Poetry & Prose," includes archival footage as well as recent interviews with Pataki, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, former Senate Republican Leader Joe Bruno - who recalls castigating Pataki for his shabby wardrobe - and members of the Capitol press corp who covered the battle royale.
