Peekskill Liquor Store Owner Must Move For New Central Fire Station

David Pacchiana thought his liquor store had a secure home through at least 2020, but when plans to build a new firehouse meant the demolition of the building his business called home, he found himself the only loser in a case of eminent domain, according to The Examiner. The initial plan for the central fire station called for several businesses in the Crossroads Shopping Center to be moved elsewhere, but the plan eventually settled upon by Peekskill officials singled out Pacchiana's business, according to The Examiner, which reported that the new $11.9 million firehouse will house five of city's six volunteer fire companies.
