PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Peekskill High School senior Diana Barreto was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Hudson Valley Chamber of Commerce, according to a press release. Barreto, who plans to study health sciences and international relations at Harvard University, received the Chamber's scholarship at an awards ceremony on June 4. "The business community recognizes that by supporting these scholarships for the students of today, we are strengthening our future," Deb Milone, Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce executive director, said at the event, according to the release.
