Bertrice Small, a prolific romance novelist who attended school in Peekskill, died on Feb. 24, according to The New York Times , at the age of 77. Small published 56 romance novels. Her writing career began at St. Mary's, a school for girls run by nuns, in Peekskill according to the Times , where she found out one of her teachers had been one of her favorite authors.
