Grant Investigation Sparks Clash Between Peekskill Residents

An investigation into a home improvement grant given to Peekskill's deputy mayor, Drew Claxton, and her son, spurred a heated argument between two city residents this week, according to a report in lohud.com. While the City Council met in executive session Monday, Leesther Brown, former chairwoman of the city's housing board, and Ted Bitter, Claxton's boyfriend and owner of the BeanRunner Cafe, went toe to toe at City Hall over what Brown alleged was a conflict of interest, lohud reported.
