For Westchester County residents dreaming of a white Christmas, history is not on your side, according to the National Weather Service. The National Weather Service defines a "white Christmas" as having at least one inch of snow on the ground on Dec. 25. Data from 1981 to 2010 says the tri-state area stands a better than 50 percent chance of seeing green on Christmas.
